As a spark reviewer I chose a Monoprice HDMI cable to receive and review. It is made in China. This new cable is thicker than the 6 HDMI cables I already own. It also has 2 ferrite cores which my old ones do not have. I tried to research ferrite cores, but still don't understand what their purpose is. All my old cables worked fine at first. But as I attach and detach them from my computer and TV, they seem to break. They work intermittently and sometimes have to be jiggled around. The Monoprice cable seemed to fit into the computer tighter and the computer and TV instantly connected. As far as picture quality, I could not see a difference between using the Monoprice HDMI cable and my old HDMI cables. As far as price is concerned, I know all my old HDMI cables were inexpensive. They were bought online. Some have gold connectors, some have silver. Since I received the Monoprice HDMI cable for free I can't compare prices but during my online research on ferrite cores I did read an article on CNet which said they only use Monoprice cables because they are the least expensive and they work great. They also said they plug and unplug their cables all the time. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed that with my plugging and unplugging all the time that the Monoprice cable will last. And knowing what CNet wrote, I will, if needed, purchase a Monoprice HDMI cable when I need one.

I just needed something short, thin, and flexible as a jumper between my clunky old 720p/1080p Xfinity cable box and a two-way splitter (not a switch) that sends the cable output to both my family room and my HT.\n\nAnd also, since I'm all done trying to rely on cables of questionable speed/reliability, I now only use Certified Ultra-High-Speed 48gbps cables in my system. That way, I know if I'm having some kind of issue with signal, the problem is NOT in my cables. I test every cable I get now for myself, even though they're all rated for HDMI 2.1. This one tested good to 40gbps, which is the speed limit in my Denon's tester. I'm only running it at 720P right now, but I know if I upgrade to Xfinity's 4K box in the future, this cable will more than have it covered.. And, as most of you have probably noticed, there is VERY little cost penalty when "over-doing it" with your cables. The bandwidth overhead gives me a peace of mind that makes the price difference seem negligible.

I bought a TV that kept doing dark for a few seconds and also didn't always turn on when I pressed the button. I returned it and bought a much better one and put the same cords on it. I had just bought them and supposedly they worked with my TV. They didn't. It went dark too, but that TV told me why (and it turns on every time). They couldn't handle 4K. I had old Monoprice 4K cords. I used them and everything worked but because my old TV had a displaced port box, they are short and hung in front of the window. These are longer and I haven't had a problem since they arrived. It did take a long time for them to come and they cost more than others that might work, but my previous experience made me buy a certified cord with the better specs than the TV said it needed. I wish the cords said what they are on them though. Once they are in a pile it's hard to tell which cord you want.

This cable solved all of my problems. The main issue was that when I connected my apple tv to my Yamaha receiver and then from the Yamaha to my Sony z9F TV, I could not get the whole system to respond to volume controls on my apple TV?\n\nSetting? Nope. I bought some anker hdmi cables that claimed to have all of the necessary features, but nothing worked as advertised. Wanting to ensure I did not get a knock-off I bought my new cables directly from Monoprice. \n\nAll my problems disappeared immediately. My TV began to receive Dolby Vision (with apple TV, enhanced HDMI must be on), and volume controls worked perfectly. I can even turn my entire system on and off (3 components) with just my apple tv remote. Well worth the cost. They feel like they will hold up too.

Was a little sceptical considering the smaller guage, but it was perfect! Much easier cable management with a quality that is identical to the thicker monoprice cable. Also for everyone still not convinced, I recently got in contact with a friend who was thousands of dollars in testing equipment..... And when compared to a cable costing $300+ the results where identical in abilities to pass all claimed signals. Yes, that means with proof, you gain nothing but looks from cables costing 10 times as much! Save your money, get these, don't be swindled by "snake oil" cables! Also my test did not include inwall, CL3, or long run cables and wouldn't be fair for me to speak on them considering longer cables require more to them to get the signal to its destination.

Inexpensive and effective!

I got these on a very deep discount in hopes I could lay my hands on some ultra-high-speed HDMI cables for cheap. I was having some issues with some of my older cables being able to consistently maintain a connection between a 4K Apple TV and my new 4K capable TV's. It'd flicker from time to time, especially when I turned on HDR and one of them got really grumpy when I tried changing the chroma subsampling from 4:2:0 to 4:2:2. These cables cleared up the flicker on all three setups and allowed the one extra grumpy one to do 4:2:2 without complaining or glitching out.

I was having a problem with my eARC connection between the TV and AVR. Sometimes this was fixed by a full power cycle on at least the TV. Sometimes I needed to pull the plugs on both. Although the cable looked fine and was a decent HDMI cable for other purposes, the HDMI cable replacement was an easy test. I am pleased to advise this replacement cable seems to have fixed the problem! I am no engineer and don't do sophisticated technical testing, but this was a simple and inexpensive test run that worked! I also got a slightly longer one to avoid strain on the connections. I highly recommend this cable, which is sturdy and well made, but most importantly fixed the problem for me.

These worked out perfectly for my setup since I had limited space to work with, considering what these cost, they are pretty darn close in terms of picture quality with cables 7x the price. My only real knock on them is that the don't have those little catch grips on them that help keep them plugged in, they are by no means popping out, they just come out a little easier than I like them to, and that matters if you are adjusting your system and the keep getting loose as you move stuff around.

Does what is intended. I didn't realize it came with a ferrite bead. I bought these to put behind my walls but these didn't fit in the wall brush plates because of the ferrite bead. I ended up cutting them up with a utility knife just so that they fit. Also one of these was intended to be connected to a nintendo switch base. Because of that bead, I can't close the back of base which looks ugly.

A lot of people don't realize that their new TVS, game consoles and even sound systems need these HDMI2.1 8k cables and also to be on the lookout because some other brands don't offer the speeds like monoprice does with their 48 GB instead of just the 18.

This is an impressively thick, heavy cable, which seems like it should stand up well to repeated deployment and packing (my use case.) It works well between a laptop and 1080p TV.\n4 stars because it's awkwardly stiff and heavy, making external support at the ends a necessity. It's probably best for 1-time, fixed installation in walls, which is what it's advertised for.

As always, products from Monoprice perform as expected. This was for an in-wall installation for our main TV. The old HDMI was already installed when we purchase the house and had failed. It was also too short and needed additional extensions at each end. Also it was a 4K at 30 FPS and having handshake problems. The new HDMI cable was active fiber optic with 4K at 120 FPS and it performs great. Now no more buffering or frozen frames. It was super easy to install in a long pull through a Smurf tube with two 90s.

This 25' cable contains 24awg wire. Some reviewers rated it lower due to cable thickness and limited flexibility, but I did not have any trouble routing it through outlet boxes and 1" flexible conduit embedded in the walls. I was able to gradually bend it about as tight as a 2" radius. I have an Epson 3200 4K projector connected to a Pioneer Elite VSX LX-505 video receiver. I have only tested using online 4K videos from a PC, but the picture is very sharp. Overall, I am very happy with the cable.

I have a slightly complicated setup that I am trying to control using HDMI-CEC. The system sometimes acted unpredictably, and I read somewhere that having cables that do not meet the latest 4K standard can cause unpredictable behavior. So I replaced the mishmash of HDMI cables that I was using with Monoprice 4K Certified Premium HDMI Cables. I was skeptical that it would make a difference, but it seems to have done that. The system is behaving more predictably now.
