On Saturday at 6:23 a.m. the National Weather Service released a severe thunderstorm warning in effect until 7:15 a.m. for Choctaw County.
A flood advisory is in effect for Orleans, Jefferson, St. Bernard, Plaquemines and St. Charles Parish until noon Saturday, according to the National Weather Service. Rain, with the possibility of minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas, is forecast. One to three inches of rain are possible, forecasters said.

Thunderstorms are expected across much of Southeast Texas as a cold front approaches the region Friday. As of 3 p.m., a few scattered thunderstorms have developed in Harris, Montgomery and Liberty counties.
