The Dallas Cowboys are looking for a new defensive coordinator after firing Matt Eberflus on Monday following one disappointing season. In discussing the search for his replacement, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones used a comment President Donald Trump made regarding the crisis in Venezuela.
Dallas will now have a fourth defensive coordinator in four seasons. Dan Quinn left after the 2023 season. Mike Zimmer came back for the 2024 season and was fired after one year. Matt Eberflus was then hired and fired after the 2025 season. A new coordinator will take the job for 2026.
Both Jerry and George Thomas signed with the Detroit Tigers after the 1957 season. The brothers were teammates with Augusta of the Class A Sally League in 1958. Jerry Thomas was 9-6 with a 3.79 ERA for Augusta, which won the Sally League title and had 13 future major-leaguers on the team.
