BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A former Angola employee was arrested Monday after being accused of having contraband on penitentiary grounds. According to the Louisiana Department of Public Safety, Alsaysia Bates, 24, was arrested after a routine search at the prison was conducted on Dec. 21, 2025.
