Setting Default Save Destination for Files to Desktop in Windows 10
Generally, if you save a file to the Desktop then this is the folder its SaveAs routine will open to in the future so it becomes, in effect, a default setting. I do this for all my applications and do not have any problems doing so. - I merely have to avoid navigating to a different folder because doing so would change the 'default' behaviour.

Some pictures saved onto desktop not showing on desktop Hello all, need some help please. My problem: Using the Windows Snipping Tool, I save a screen shot as jpg file on my desktop. However, after saving, the jpg file does not show on desktop, although it DID in fact save it on desktop because I see it through file explorer.

Can't save txt files to Desktop Solved - Windows 10 Forums
I have now Windows 10 Pro 1709 (compilation 16299.192) and can't say if the problem started with this version or another one. BTW, I created a docx file with Word 365 and a cdr file with CorelDRAW 2017 and could save them to the Windows Desktop normally, so it seems the problem is, AFAIK, related to txt files only. Any ideas? TIA.
